FileCura terms of use.

1. Who you're dealing with

FileCura is operated by Veratus Group Limited, a private company limited by shares registered in England and Wales (company number 17258282), registered office at 10 Chalet Close, Bexley, DA1 5RP. "FileCura", "we", "us", and "our" in this document refer to Veratus Group Limited. "You" means anyone using the FileCura app or buying a pack.

The FILECURA word mark is the subject of UK Intellectual Property Office trade mark application no. UK00004401266, filed on 12 June 2026 and published for opposition purposes on 26 June 2026 (Class 9 Downloadable Software + Class 42 SaaS).

2. The free FileCura app

The FileCura app itself is free to download and use. It is distributed as a Developer ID signed and notarised macOS application from filecura.com. You may install it on as many Macs as you own.

3. Paid packs and licensing

Optional add-on packs (such as the File Hygiene Pack and Metadata Power Pack) are sold as a one-time purchase via Lemon Squeezy. After payment you receive a .filecuralicense file by email, which unlocks the pack inside the FileCura app.

The license is tied to you as a person, not to a specific Mac. You may use a license you bought on any Mac you personally own, and you may carry it forward when you replace a Mac. Sharing or redistributing your license file to other people is not permitted.

Each license includes a unique buyer ID. If a license file is found in unauthorised circulation, the buyer ID makes the original purchaser identifiable.

4. 14-day refund policy

Under UK distance-selling rules and our own goodwill, you may request a full refund of any paid pack within 14 days of purchase, no questions asked.

To request a refund, reply to your original Lemon Squeezy order email, or email hello@filecura.com with your order number. After 14 days we'll review on a case-by-case basis — we generally still help if something is wrong.

After a refund is issued, the corresponding license is treated as withdrawn. We will not pursue you over a refunded license; please simply stop using the workflows you were refunded for.

5. What FileCura does — and what it does not

FileCura's Quick Actions only run when you:

• select one or more files or folders in Finder, and
• choose a FileCura Quick Action from the right-click menu.

FileCura does not run background jobs against your files, does not scan your entire disk automatically, and does not upload your files. See the Privacy page for the full data-handling notice.

6. You are responsible for backing up your files

FileCura performs actions on files that you select in Finder and you trigger via a Quick Action. Some of these actions change file metadata or filenames. The File Hygiene Pack workflows produce review reports rather than auto-deleting anything, but you are still responsible for keeping appropriate backups of any files you use FileCura with.

7. No warranty

FileCura is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. To the extent permitted by UK law, our total liability arising out of or relating to your use of FileCura is limited to the amount you paid us for the pack(s) in question. Nothing in these terms limits any statutory rights you have as a UK consumer.

8. Distribution and reverse engineering

FileCura is distributed as a signed and notarised Developer ID DMG, outside the Mac App Store. You may not redistribute the FileCura app or any paid-pack license file. You may not bypass the license-verification logic that gates paid-pack workflows.

9. Feedback

If you send feedback, bug reports, screenshots, or suggestions, you allow us to use that feedback to improve FileCura. We will not publish your personal information without permission.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as FileCura evolves. The version on this page applies to FileCura v2.0 as of the date noted at the top. Material changes will be flagged in a future release-notes entry.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Nothing in this clause prevents you from relying on protections under the consumer laws of your country of residence.

12. Disclaimer of warranties and limitation of liability

Plain-language summary: FileCura is designed to be safe by default — under normal operation it is engineered so that files are not deleted or moved without an explicit in-app confirmation, and destructive workflows are designed to copy first and ask before trashing originals. However, no software is free from defects, and no software can guarantee absolute data integrity against hardware failure, operating-system bugs, third-party sync conflicts, future regressions in FileCura itself, or human error. You remain solely responsible for maintaining your own independent, tested backups, and the Publisher's total liability to you is capped as set out below.

12.0 Definitions

"Publisher" means Veratus Group Limited (company number 17258282), a private company limited by shares incorporated in England and Wales with registered office at 10 Chalet Close, Bexley, DA1 5RP and contact at hello@filecura.com. "Software" means FileCura, the Site, all automation packs, all workflows, all updates, all pre-release/beta builds, and all related materials and services. "You" means the end user and the user's heirs, successors, and permitted assigns.

12.1 What FileCura is designed to do

FileCura is engineered with a "safety-by-default" architecture. Subject to the limitations, exclusions, and risks set out below, and under normal operation in the absence of defects, third-party interference, or user override, FileCura is designed so that:

• FileCura is designed not to delete or move files without an explicit, in-app user confirmation.
• Smart Mover and Cloud Migrate workflows are designed to copy files to the destination first and prompt before any original is trashed.
• The Archive Handler is designed not to delete source files unless the user explicitly enables that behaviour.
• Project Snapshot is designed to write a ZIP archive only.
• Stage and Import is designed to refuse writes into derived, managed, or build-controlled paths (including but not limited to Library/, node_modules/, .build/, DerivedData/).
• GitHub Sync workflows are designed not to invoke --force, --hard, interactive rebase, or other history-rewriting Git operations.
• Init Repo is designed to refuse overwriting an existing .git/ directory.
• Route by Config is designed to preview destinations before moving files.
• Automation pack signatures are designed to be verified before execution.

These are design intents, not warranties of outcome. FileCura may contain bugs, regressions, or unintended behaviours; third-party software, automation tools (including but not limited to AppleScript, Keyboard Maestro, accessibility automation, and MDM agents) may interact with or auto-dismiss confirmation prompts; and the matters in clause 12.3 may cause deviation from these design intents. You expressly accept this risk.

12.2 "AS IS" provision; no warranties

Except for warranties that cannot be excluded under mandatory consumer-protection laws of your jurisdiction, the Software is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE", with all faults, and without warranty of any kind. The Publisher and its suppliers, contributors, and licensors expressly DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, express, implied, statutory, or otherwise, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, quiet enjoyment, accuracy, completeness, reliability, uninterrupted/error-free/secure/virus-free operation, and any warranty arising from course of dealing, course of performance, or trade usage. No advice or information, oral or written, creates any warranty not expressly stated.

Beta / pre-release builds are provided with even greater limitations: they are known to be incomplete, unstable, and unsuitable for production data.

12.3 Risks that exist despite FileCura's safety design

You acknowledge that causes of potential data loss, corruption, unavailability, or unexpected behaviour outside the Publisher's reasonable control include, without limitation:

• hardware failure (disk/SSD wear, power loss, RAM errors including bit flips and cosmic-ray-induced soft errors, controller failure, cable faults, thermal events, external drive disconnect, USB/Thunderbolt instability);
• filesystem bugs or edge cases (APFS, HFS+, exFAT, NTFS, ext4, SMB, AFP, NFS, WebDAV, FUSE), including case-sensitivity, extended-attribute, ACL, Finder-tag, alias, symlink, and hardlink edge cases;
• macOS bugs, OS updates, security patches, sandbox/entitlement changes, Full Disk Access revocation, Files-and-Folders permission changes, and Apple-side API changes;
• encrypted-volume issues (FileVault, encrypted DMG, third-party encryption) including key loss mid-operation;
• third-party cloud-sync conflicts (iCloud Drive, Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive, Box, pCloud, Sync.com, and similar);
• network failures, latency, throttling, outages, and cross-border data-residency issues during cloud operations;
• quota exhaustion at the destination (iCloud full, disk full, cloud quota exceeded);
• concurrent file modifications by other apps, daemons, background indexers, antivirus, MDM agents, or other users;
• user error, including selecting the wrong destination/project, confirming a prompt without reading it, accessibility-tool mis-clicks, and automation tools (AppleScript, Keyboard Maestro, BetterTouchTool, Switch Control, etc.) auto-dismissing prompts;
• Git operations on dirty trees, untracked-file collisions, submodule/LFS/hook states, repo corruption, bare repos, worktree pointers, and case-insensitive-FS collisions;
• race conditions between FileCura's read and write phases;
• NAS/SMB/AFP/WebDAV/FUSE destination quirks, metadata loss, and Spotlight-index corruption from mass moves;
• third-party services going offline or changing APIs/terms (including GitHub, cloud providers, package registries, authentication providers);
• Lemon Squeezy or other payment-processor actions affecting purchase, license validity, refunds, chargebacks, or entitlement state;
• license-file loss, machine reformat, hardware replacement, or deactivation limits;
• automation-pack signature edge cases (key rotation, clock skew, revoked keys, cached verification state, tampered packs, or bugs in the verifier itself);
• ZIP/snapshot archive corruption from media failure or transfer errors;
• macOS Trash auto-empty behaviour and third-party "cleaner" apps purging Trash;
• Time Machine and other backup tools whose chains may be invalidated by FileCura moves;
• malware, ransomware, keyloggers, supply-chain compromise, or other security incidents on the user's Mac;
• localisation/translation errors in confirmation prompts;
• bugs, regressions, or defects in FileCura itself, including future versions; and
• events of force majeure (clause 12.8).

12.4 Your responsibility for backups

Regardless of any safety feature, confirmation prompt, preview, or design property of FileCura, it is your sole responsibility to maintain complete, current, independent, and tested backups (including at least one off-device or off-site copy not managed by FileCura) before running any workflow. FileCura is not a backup product.

12.5 Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

• In no event shall the Publisher, its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, agents, contributors, licensors, or suppliers be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages, including lost profits, lost revenue, lost goodwill, lost data, data corruption, business interruption, or cost of substitute goods/services, even if advised of the possibility and even if a limited remedy fails of its essential purpose.
• The aggregate liability of the Publisher and the foregoing parties — in contract, tort (including negligence), strict liability, statute, or any other theory — is limited to the greater of (a) GBP £50 or (b) the amount you actually paid the Publisher for the specific automation pack giving rise to the claim in the twelve (12) months preceding the event. These limitations apply in the aggregate across all claims and theories.

12.6 Mandatory consumer rights

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations. In those jurisdictions, clauses 12.2 and 12.5 apply only to the maximum extent permitted by law. Nothing herein excludes liability for fraud, gross negligence, wilful misconduct, or death/personal injury caused by negligence, or any non-excludable consumer rights under the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015, EU Directive 2019/771, the Australian Consumer Law, or similar regimes.

12.7 Third-party services and content

FileCura may interoperate with third-party services (GitHub, iCloud Drive, Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive, Lemon Squeezy, package registries, etc.). The Publisher does not control and is not responsible for their availability, accuracy, security, content, terms, pricing, or practices.

12.8 Force majeure

The Publisher is not liable for failures, delays, data loss, corruption, or unavailability caused by events beyond reasonable control, including acts of God, natural disasters, pandemics, war, terrorism, civil unrest, government action, labour disputes, internet/telecom/electrical/payment/distribution/code-signing infrastructure failures, cyber-attacks, denial-of-service events, OS/app-store policy changes, and embargoes/sanctions.

12.9 Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the Publisher and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, agents, contributors, licensors, and suppliers from any claims, demands, actions, liabilities, losses, damages, judgments, settlements, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of (a) your misuse of FileCura; (b) your violation of these terms or any law; (c) your failure to maintain adequate backups; (d) installation or use of unsigned, modified, or untrusted packs; (e) data, accounts, or services connected without authority; or (f) infringement of any third-party right.

12.10 Allocation of risk

You acknowledge that the pricing of FileCura reflects this allocation of risk, that these limitations are an essential basis of the bargain, and that the Publisher would not provide FileCura on these economic terms without them.

12.11 No critical-use reliance

FileCura is not designed, intended, or licensed for environments where failure could lead to death, personal injury, severe environmental damage, or critical financial, medical, legal, or regulated-records loss. You agree not to so use FileCura and accept all risk if you do.

12.12 Updates, discontinuation, and licence

The Publisher may update, modify, or discontinue any feature, pack, or service at any time. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of the then-current terms. Licence files, entitlement keys, and activation states are subject to deactivation limits; loss of a licence file does not entitle you to additional copies beyond Publisher policy. If the Publisher discontinues the product or ceases operations, the Publisher's only obligation is as set out in these terms.

12.13 Telemetry and privacy

FileCura may send diagnostic, crash, or usage data as described in the Privacy Policy. Your use of FileCura constitutes acknowledgment of that policy.

12.14 Time limit on claims

Any claim arising out of or related to FileCura must be filed within one (1) year after the cause of action accrues, or be permanently barred, except where prohibited by applicable law.

12.15 Export control and sanctions

You represent that you are not located in, and will not use FileCura in, any country subject to a UK, EU, US, or UN embargo, and that you are not on any restricted-party list (UK OFSI, EU consolidated, US OFAC SDN, etc.).

12.16 Severability; reformation

If any provision is held unenforceable, it shall be reformed to the minimum extent necessary to be enforceable, and the remainder shall remain in full force.

12.17 Entire agreement; no waiver; no reliance; assignment; notices; headings

These terms (together with the Privacy Policy and any pack-specific terms) constitute the entire agreement and supersede all prior communications. No failure or delay in enforcing any right is a waiver. You have not relied on any representation outside this document. You may not assign these terms; the Publisher may assign freely. Notices to the Publisher must be sent to hello@filecura.com or to the registered office address above; notices to you may be sent in-app or to your registered email. Headings are for convenience only. There are no third-party beneficiaries, except where FileCura is distributed via the Mac App Store, in which case Apple Inc. and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries entitled to enforce these terms as to you; Apple is not responsible for FileCura, has no warranty or support obligation, and is not a party to any dispute between you and the Publisher.

12.18 Survival

The provisions of this clause 12 (and the limitations and waivers in it) survive any termination, expiration, cancellation, refund, chargeback, or revocation of your licence or use of FileCura.
